Kunta is an experienced translator working on English to Indonesian/Balinese translations and vice versa. She professionally embarked on the industry in 2007 as an in-house translator for a prestigious Bali-based law firm. Not only has the position familiarized Kunta with specific legal terms, but it has also allowed her to reap the benefits of the experience after her deciding to become an independent translator specializing in law/legal. This has introduced Kunta to many and varied translation fields–such as business, fishery, food and agriculture–and further developed her expertise.
Kunta was one of the translators for APEC 2013 in Bali as well as for various national and international events. Currently, she is at the helm of the Bali chapter of HPI which bolsters her standing. And as part of her professional commitments to provide quality translations, Kunta emphasises the importance of profound subject knowledge and sociocultural understanding of both source and target language and of involving the ideas in the creative and translation processes.
