Irma is an English-to-Indonesian translator providing translation, localization, and subtitling services. She obtained a BA in English from the State University of Jakarta in the late 2000s. Soon after receiving the degree, Irma was hired by Indonesia’s prominent TV channel and has since been in charge of translating market and business reviews. The extensive professional experience has familiarized her with hands-on specialized terminology in economy, finance, and law/legal. In addition, Irma has always been keen to translate healthcare and medical texts and accordingly has a wealth of experience of translating materials relating to the fields.
Moreover, Irma has translated a number of widely applauded books into Indonesian, including “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People”, which were then published and distributed nationally. She uses such market-friendly CAT tools as Trados, MemoQ, and Wordfast, and has a daily translation output of around 2,500 words. Irma’s involvement in the HPI has also allowed her to actively participate in continuing professional development (CPD) programmes pertinent to different areas of her interest and expertise.
