Irma is an English-to-Indonesian translator providing translation, localization, and subtitling service. She obtained a BA in English from the State University of Jakarta in the late 2000s. Soon after getting the degree, Irma was hired by Indonesia’s prominent TV channel and has since been in charge of translating market and business reviews. The extensive professional experience has familiarized her with hands-on specialized terminology in commerce, economy, and finance. However, she has always keen to translate health and medical texts.
Irma has translated a number of widely applauded books into Indonesian, including “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People”, which were then locally published and nationally distributed. She uses such CAT tools as Trados, MemoQ, and Wordfast, and has a daily translation output of around 2,500 words. Irma’s active involvement in the HPI has also allowed continued professional development.
